-About University of the Family

Written and designed specifically for those getting married for the very first time, University of the Family is pleased to offer its premarital course, "ONE For Life".

Relationships span the entire spectrum of
questions that could be asked; no manual,
no program, no counselor has the answer
to every question. What you will find in this course are Biblical principles that, when applied, answer those eternal questions.

Why target seriously dating couples? Because "seriously dating" is a step toward what is meant to be a life-long commitment. This course will take couples from the only life they know of, the single life, and prepare them for the amazing journey called marriage.  This won't be a "feel good" course where couples just sit back and soak up the material. Instead, it's an exciting, interactive, revealing time between couples that are going through the exact same things at the exact same time.

  • Each meeting will be held once a week for two to two and a half hours. The course is eight weeks long.
  • Lessons are presented in an easy-to-follow outline format with fill-in-the blanks and follow up assignments dealing with that week's topic.
  • There will be specific discussion times and topics each week.
  • The course is for participants who are at least 18 years of age or have completed high school and engaged/seriously considering engagement.
  • Participants must commit to the entire course unless the decision is made to discontinue the relationship during the course.
  • This course was specifically written to address issues for people who are entering into marriage for the first time. Please, no exceptions.
  • The fee for the eight-week ONE For Life course is $50/person. The fee becomes non-refundable one week prior to the start of the course, or if someone other than the attendee pays for the course.
